During His stay in Ajimgunj Paramananda Mission for the last few years (1997- 98), He said to us quite often, ” An ashram of us will be established beside the river Kopai in Birbhum.” He said to many devotees individually, “Hey, you ( He called his name) go to Bolpur frequently. You search a little bit – whether you will be able to get a place which will be ideal for setting up an ashram near Bolpur.” He discussed in Banagram Ashram also, “a branch of Banagram Paramananda Mission will be established beside the river Kopai adjacent to Bolpur in Birbhum.” I remember Sushanta Thakur (he is a devotee of Banagram Paramananda Mission. He lives in Uttarpara.). Then he did a job in Writers’ Building in a higher post in the department of education, Government of West Bengal. Perhaps he became a secretary also. He frequently went to Bolpur for the purpose of his duties. Besides this, his ancestral house was in Birbhum really. Guru Maharaj requested him also to search a place which will be ideal for establishing an ashram in Birbhum. Guru Maharaj requested Ganga Babu (Ganganarayan Bandyopadhyay) also the same regarding this matter.
Then Ajimgunj's Babin Daa( Akhilananda) did a job in the department of 'River Lifting' under the government of West Bengal. I told previously that Babin Daa was a family man i.e he had a wife, a son or a daughter or both. Babin Daa and his wife were initiated 'Vanaprastha Sannyas' by Guru Maharaj but Babin Daa had not left his family or his service. He did a job in some village beside the river Kopai in a 'water lifting centre'. Babin Daa heard from Guru Maharaj "an ashram will be established beside the river Kopai in Birbhum district" and hearing those words, Babin Daa arranged a portion of land in the village in which he did a job and he made a house there. (Obviously it was an earthen house.) He started also to campaign locally that this house was the branch of Banagram Paramananda Mission. That year (1997 - 98), we still stayed in Ajimgunj Paramananda Mission some days after 1st January - we heard that the sitting would not be held the next day, it had been initiated to set up a branch of Banagram Ashram in the district Birbhum - Guru Maharaj would go there with Babin Daa. Some gentlemen also would accompany Him. Guru Maharaj would return in the afternoon or in the evening. Alas, we felt extremely sad - would we not hear anything else from Guru Maharaj the entire day? How would we spend all the day? But what to do? I went to sleep remembering my guru. No hurry to get up in the morning - because Guru Maharaj had to go out at dawn. I was awake but I lay lazily wrapping me in a blanket. Suddenly someone said, "Hey, get up. Get up - Guru Maharaj had got up and He went to the bathroom." Before constructing the new building, Guru Maharaj went to the outside bathroom which was situated near the western gate. However, hearing those words I got up in a hurry. "What? Guru Maharaj had to go somewhere - had He not gone there?" I wondered. I got up and I completed my early morning activities. I bathed also. After then, having my breakfast- I took a seat in Guru Maharaj's sitting. After the discussion of different topics, He also explained "why He did not go there." The gist of what He said was whose ashram would be set up She Herself ( Mother Jagadamba) did not want Guru Maharaj to go there. As a result, Guruji did not go there - usually the ashram was not established. Many days later, rather there happened many problems. A long time later, near Bolpur in the district of Birbhum, the branch of Banagram Paramananda Mission was established in Adityapur - though the ashram was not just beside the river Kopai, the ashram was established within 1 kilometer from the river Kopai. That was another story - I will discuss that context another time. It was fact that Guru Maharaj went to visit the proposed ashram spot in Bolpur (Adityapur) from Ajimgunj Paramananda Mission - so I have to talk about that topic also.
