[We mentioned the names of_ “two Buro Maas”(old age mothers) previous day. Today we are trying to discuss more about them.]
Some words were said about the two “Buro Maas” previous day- let’s talk a little bit more about them. Mukherjee’s “Buro Maa”- the mother of N’kaka__ was very very simple woman, like the “ideal mothers” of the ancient days. She loved Guruji like her own son. She was too much caring about Guru Maharaj. She always asked Gurumaharaj if he had eaten anything or not. Guruji told us that ‘Buro Maa’ (NaKaka’s mother) used some rural colloquial words, which was difficult to understand for all ! Such as, if there were too many clouds in the sky, she used to say__ “The clouds have come turning ‘Aakal kul'(rural bengali words)”. Guru Maharaj told us __ “At first I could not understand the actual meaning of ‘Aakal kul’. Sometimes, I would try to find out the source of the word. It is true that I thought a lot to understand the meaning of this words .Then I realised__ she probably meant ‘the clouds have come turning the sky black’ by that words( Aakal kul ).”
And the other “Buro Maa” (Ganguly’s mother) would have ” Bhor ” or ‘obsession’ during the “Kali Puja”(the worship of goddess Kali). She used to dance around the whole village (Banagram) to the beat of the drum at that time(in the obsession state), though she was much older then and it was impossible to do this hard task for such an old woman. Guruji asked manytimes that old mother(Buro Maa) not to do this anymore. But she didn’t listen to him. Once Guru Maharaj also danced with her in the time of Kali Puja. What a dancing that was !! Those who were enjoying it were also blessed by Him __as they witnessed that unworldly matter in their own eyes!! They were also blessed who were playing the drums. Guru Maharaj himself dictated the ‘beats’ to the drummers. As soon as they started playing drums to that beats, Gurumaharaj was starting his dance in a new pose ! In this way he was dancing in different ways, according to the different beats!!
Swami Paramananda danced around the whole village that day! It was a fantastic scene for the then villagers of Banagram! Till now they proudly mention the incident when they get the chance to discuss about Guruji.
Probably after the incident, “Buro Maa” stopped to dance for the rest of the years she lived (She would have the obsession state no more.).
Guru Maharaj also promised the two “Buro Maas” to be present at the time of their deaths (in His physical body or His subtle body) and Guruji kept His promise.
Anyway, we should come back to our actual discussion. That night I was talking to Nagen about Guru Maharaj. In fact, I found Nagen’s words more believable than anyone else (from the other devotees or the other villagers). I liked his easy and simple attitude too much. He was saying that Guru Maharaj loved him very much. He took Nagen with him, when He went somewhere nearby. He also said_” Just a few days ago I (Nagen) went to Tentulia (a small village of Purba Bardhaman) with Guruji. There was an annual song festival there. ”
– By which you went there? I asked.
— Mostly by walking. Starting from my house and after leaving the ashram, I walked straight to the field and took a bus at Bondul to Tentulia . However, Guruji left in the morning and took a bus from Jabuidanga, roamed a couple of places and reached Tentulia in the evening.
In the next day there was a sitting of Guruji in the village of ‘Vita’ or ‘Shonpur’. [I also noticed that in those days (1983/84), Guru Maharaj used to go to Jabuidanga on foot. From there He used to go (to Memari, Burdwan or anywhere) by bus. And most of the time He loved to travel by sitting on the roof of the bus. When one asked Him about that, He would say, “Actually, the crowd and the heat inside the bus make me very uncomfortable. But in the roof, it is open space all around and there is huge air.It is so comfortable!!”]…….(To be continued)
