Today I will talk about general mad people. Guruji said, “The persons who were lunatic, they will become the victim of madness deeply.” There are too much lunatic mad persons in the society and as Paramananda Mission is open for all – so, there gathered a large number of mentally ill people in the ashram.
Besides, there was a reason. It was that Guru Maharaj applied a few simple remedies to cure the madness of mad people. The insane persons were bound to do Jalneti, Sutraneti (these are few methods of yoga). They had to eat veg food of the ashram. They also had to have homeopathy medicine. For these remedies, these people recovered from their illness.
As usual – of course, there stayed one or two mentally disturbed persons in the ashram.
But when we referred to mad people to Guru Maharaj, then Guru Maharaj said, “Who is not mad? I notice most of the people mad. Few people are mad for money, few people are mad for fame, few people are mad for marriage. Besides, few people are mad for god – people are mad for many reasons.”
The local people out of the ashram gathered in the ashram becoming 100% sure that if any patient of their home comes to Guru Maharaj, the patient will be surely recovered. These patients were either bitten by snakes or mentally disturbed.
If anyone was bitten by snake who was the inhabitant of the local area out of the ashram, the family men of that patient came straight to Baba Thakur taking the patient with them. Guru Maharaj cured the patients in the different ways. Seldom He sent the patients into the hospital. Otherwise, He cured the patient himself. Among the maharajs of Banagram Ashram, Swami Satyananda Maharaj ( Shambhu Maharaj) and Swami Swarupananda Maharaj were bitten by venomous snakes – then Guru Maharaj excluded the poison out of the body sucking the wound and He applied His saliva on the wound, and He said, “Now, you go. You are now free from poison.”
Secondly, the local inhabitants out of the ashram came to Guruji taking with them the patient who was mentally ill. The patient came to his home back again recovering from his illness – staying in the ashram for 1 or 2 days. In fact, Guruji was kind hearted to the local people very much. I am remembering that once a minor boy of Banagram died of encephalitis. After few days, Guru Maharaj was attacked by this disease. This time, He was unable to come out of His cottage at least 4/5 days. All the day, the doors and windows of His home was closed. We saw that N’Kaka, Mejo Kaka, Swapan Khuro, Ram Khuro, Ranjit master- among the villagers of Banagram – came to Guruji in the afternoon to know His report. He opened the window narrowly and He told them, “I am fine.”, and saying these words He closed the window again. After 7/8 days, when He started to take His seat in the sitting again, then He said to us the experience of illness of those days. He said to us all the details of this disease, encephalitis – the pain and the symptoms of this disease, reaction of this disease in the body etc…etc. He said to us, ” The fever is running up 105 to 106/107 degree and as well as severe pain upto the brain through the backbone.”
However, He loved the people of local area very much. He also felt sorrow for the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages. He tried to remove the inconvenience of the local people as much as possible.
