Here Gurumaharaj sharply criticises the communists who make it a point to insult the devotees of Sri Ramakrishna.
Gurumaharaj : They must be crazy to indulge in the extremely harmful intoxication induced by the Marxist ideals. I’m telling this because there is a specific reason. Observe a person who worshipped Sri Ramakrishna for the last ten years. Then closely follow another person who remained involved in left- wing politics for the last ten years. If you analyse these two persons you can easily find out the considerable differences in their characters . How many persons in politics these days are not interested in their personal comforts and interests? They are all only full of tall talks and grandiloquence. Can you really serve humanity by publicly bragging about your intention to do so ?
Even if one has got a little attachment, he is deemed unfit to serve humanity. He can only have little compassion, donate to charity or show mercy. But true service to mankind must be selfless. A person who is able to give up the lust for women and gold can only render selfless service to others.Today there are monks who embraced the ideals of Swami Vivekananda renouncing the lust for women and gold. They have truly sacrificed their lives for the welfare of humanity. They are the real Karma Yogis. They are actually offering selfless service to our society. The monks of Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and various other Missions stand by the distressed or victims of various natural calamities. Why can’t the political activists do so?
The political activists are not able to serve these hapless victims of various natural calamities like the monks because they do not regularly practise any spiritual exercise. So, they could not inculcate the spirit of selfless service in themselves. Without becoming purified by the spiritual process one can never develop the selflessness in the depth of their beings. So, only the Sannyasins are presently doing this with a missionary zeal. Here in our Mission as well the monks are looking after the orphan children.The other devotees help them financially from outside. This way the service work is carried out here. It is not at all an easy task to render service to others. If a grandiloquent person attempts it, he is sure to fail in his endeavour.
