Gurumaharaj : Who can stop war? Only Bhagavan Buddha can do that! Lord Buddha is the only symbol of Peace in this war- torn world. Only the Buddhas can pacify the world. The person who attained Peace can settle all the troubles of others and show them the path of Peace. They can restore stability in the society. Yes, only they can do that.
Almost everywhere the calm posture of Lord Buddha is to be observed. There He sits in Dhyana Mudra. If you look at this statue you will discover a deep calmness. Look at this statue for a while even with a troubled mind, you will become peaceful for the time being. In every critical hour, even in any wartime situation we need Lord Buddha for making peace. When Lord Buddha was alive, conflicts among the several states of India were snowballing into deeper crises on many occasions. But in every case Lord Buddha went there and resolved all the conflicts.
Buddha means someone who is enlightened. The reason of war is ignorance. With the sword of Knowledge the ignorance can be destroyed. The light of Knowledge dispels the darkness of ignorance. What Knowledge is this?
” Brahman Satyam, Jagat Mithya, Jivo Brahmaiva Naparah”. ( Brahman is the ultimate truth, the World is unreal and Brahman is not different from individual Self.) Who else other than the fools or the ignorant people wage war against each other for their rights, possessions or ideologies?
The wise men, the people with higher consciousness level never get into such troubles. They mastered the secrets of the universe. They know very well the ways of the world. They know that here we should accept both sorrow and happiness, night and day, smiles and tears, good and bad, the wise people and the rogues. One has to find his way to fulfil the main objective of his life through all these. One is born in a Hindu family but he may be born in a Muslim family in his next life. The child of a rich man can be born in a poor family. Here lies the secrets of birth! Without knowing this you are only fighting with your own self, dear! This was why Sukumar Ray wrote in one of his poems: My body is now aching after wrestling with shadows! “
When shall man realize this? Lord Buddha has to incarnate time and again for saving the humanity! It’s no use shouting slogans like ‘ No war, we want peace’. It never happens that way.When more people become enlightened like Buddha, then only there will be peace on earth. Otherwise there is no way out. Everyone is restlessly chasing the object of his or her desire.
How can a person who cannot calm his mind experience peace? To attain/ experience peace one has to learn the teachings of Buddha ( an enlightened person) by heart and become initiated spiritually. It is no use becoming superficial in one’s approach. Everyone is superficial in his quest of peace. This is why the world is faced with constant warfare.
