Query : These days the ecology, ecosystem and Vastu Shastra are creating sensation in the media. We haven’t heard of all these terms before. What are the reasons behind their increasing popularity even today, Gurudev?
Gurumaharaj : Don’t confuse the word ecology with eco system. Ecosystem is a specific term in biology. Ecosystem discusses the way how the living and non living organisms of the environment of a particular area cohabit in the best possible manner. Ecology is the comprehensive scientific study of the interrelationship of all organisms and their environment. This academic discipline includes biology, physical science, sociology and so on.
Vastu Shastra has really become a sensation these days. But it is an ancient knowledge. There are references of Vastu Shastra in The Mahabharat. Bhagavan Sri Krishna, Bhishma frequently talk about it in this epic . This clearly points to the fact that this branch of study was taught, cultivated and applied in those days. I always keep telling you that India has gifted all the core ideas of sociology to the world! The learned men of the other countries always borrowed from our notions of society, social structure and the names of the different units of the society! You will find a lot of similarities between Sanskrit and Latin. You will also find similarities between the Greek gods and goddesses and Greek legends and lore with that of the Indian. It is quite evident that Indian culture had migrated to the outer world.The relics found in Mehrgarh of Pakistan is older than the cities found in the Harappan civilisation . The relics collected from Mehrgarh is so much older than the other ancient civilisations that they cannot be compared with specimens found in the sites of other ancient civilisations.
Now the question remains why the history of those civilisations could not be found in the written format. No inscription was discovered from Mehrgarh. But the Indus script found in Harappan civilisation could not be deciphered till now. So, anything about the history of their kings, culture or the education system is still unknown to us. Had the archaeologists considered the epics and Puranas of India as real historical facts, they would have got some significant clues about it. But the Puranas were later so much interpolated that it is next to impossible to unearth those clues. Then who will tell us the true history of ancient India?
The perons who are omniscient, the Rishis can only tell us about that. Most of us believe that the Rishis and the Munis belonged to the ancient era and they don’t any longer exist. There is no basis of such beliefs. The persons whose consciousness is fixed at Ajna Chakra ( Pituitary Nerve Plexus) are the Rishis. Their consciousness never goes beneath the Anahat or Heart Chakra. Even in the present times if a Sadhak can finally elevate his consciousness to the two petalled gland of Ajna Chakra after crossing Muladhar, Swadhisthana, Manipur, Anahat and Vishuddha Chakras, he becomes a Rishi. As the Ajna Chakra of such person is activated, he can observe any event in the past, present and future at his will. That kind of a person is able to divulge all the facts of the ancient times. The researchers can never unearth historical truths of the ancient times by poring over the old texts . They can only arrive at some hypotheses. The scholars can only infer but they are not able to bring to light the actual happenings.
In the recent times, Swami Vivekananda said many things for the welfare of the mankind as a true Rishi of the modern times. But did people follow his words even nearly hundred years after his demise? No, they did not. But the fact of the matter is that the masses cannot accept the truths spoken by such noble soul. Only a handful of men or women accept their words. Thus, some teacher-disciple lineages come into being. These teacher- disciple lineages reveal to us how Ultimate Truth can be attained. Among those lineages many stop pursuing the Truth and get engaged in achieving other things. This glaringly reveals that those spiritual lineages have strayed from the path of Truth. Soon the wrath of Mahamaya ( the Cosmic Mother) will befall them. In some cases some great man takes birth in that spiritual lineage to again inspire the posterity to tread the path to Ultimate Truth.
